An ACO gives you access to a network of primary and specialty care providers who want what’s best for you. Doctors in the ACO communicate with each other and share medical information so your care is streamlined and efficient; for example, fewer repeated medical tests and less paperwork for you. Rainier Health Network is an ACO committed to delivering high-quality patient care with greater efficiency and lower costs for our patients.
Your Path to Health Starts Here
When it comes to your health, you want the best. You want a trusted partner who knows you and understands how to help you stay healthy. That’s what we want, too.
When you’re in the Rainier Health Network, you benefit from having a coordinated care experience with a team of providers working together for you. Through teamwork and efficient use of resources, Rainier Health Network physicians improve the quality of care while keeping you and your health concerns at the center of what they do.
We’re with you every step of the way. Our network brings together the entire continuum of patient care — from primary and specialty care, to inpatient care, to long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehab, hospice and home health services.
What's an ACO?
An accountable care organization (ACO) is a network of doctors, clinics and hospitals working together to provide coordinated health care for patients. It’s a system where success is measured by healthy outcomes, not by the number of services provided. Providers in an ACO are rewarded for keeping patients healthy and managing chronic conditions. By coordinating care and sharing information with other providers in the network, an ACO aims to reduce costly emergency room visits and hospital stays — with better care and lower costs for patients.
All ACOs must meet quality standards to ensure the care provided is appropriate, safe and timely. The required quality standards outlined in the Medicare Shared Savings Program, by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) demonstrate the high-quality care patients can expect from Medicare programs that are part of the Rainier Health Network. Many quality standards of the member organizations go above and beyond those outlined by CMS. Please refer to our MSSP Performance page for additional information.
Yes. Patients always have the freedom to choose doctors inside or outside of the network. Depending on your health plan coverage, your choice of provider may affect your out-of-pocket financial responsibility. Use the doctor search to find Rainier Health Network providers.
